Welcome! I'm Bob Hughes and this site is a guide to the classes I lead at the University of Florida.

My Teaching Philosopy

As a three-decade professional in the advertising and marketing field who has taught at the university level for half that time, I have found that students react positively to a combination of professional expertise and communication theory. That understanding is the cornerstone of my teaching philosophy: A blend of ‘real-world’ learning along with the underlying theory and strategies that underpin successful communication campaigns.

My goal is student success as defined by engagement, learning, grasp of materials, and critical thinking. I am in the classroom to mentor the student, helping them achieve their goals.

I have been an advertising and marketing professional for over thirty years and am now a full time educator. I also am affiliated with the University of Phoenix and have taught at Southern New Hampshire University.
